Acai Berries: Treasure of the Amazon

Hailing from the rainforests of Brazil, the acai berry grows on a tall, thin palm tree typically exceeding 60 feet or so. These trees are usually found in floodplain areas around the Amazon River. The berry has a dark purple color and is larger than an average sized blueberry. Only the outermost layers are considered ""fruitful"" though. About seventy five to ninety percent of the berry is just the seed thus leaving only a small fraction of about ten to twenty five percent the fruit to be pulp. In order to reap the rewards of the acai berry properly, absorption of the fruits contents must be done so either immediately or the contents must be contained within mere minutes of harvest by freeze drying right away.

As mentioned before Acai berries include a vast array of health benefits. The Acai berry is a wealth of anti oxidants and vitamins and minerals which are helpful for immune systems and health. Some say that one could receive all of the antioxidants that you need in a day from just one glass of red wine. Acai berries contain thirty three times more antioxidants than red wine and prove much more helpful in the fight against free radicals and premature aging.

Some other assistances that acai berries have been known to offer include a boosting in personal energy levels, helping to achieve the most out of your time. There is also the ability to improve mental clarity and focus. Unlike that energy drink that gets you hyped up and jittery, leading to distractions and overlooking details.
