These guns basically working in a similar way and can propel pellets with such great velocities that allow you to get the same experience as when using a real gun.

Most Airsoft guns are able to shoot pellets that can travel from as much as 46 m/s to 120 m/s and some improved Airsoft guns have been reported to project pellets that can reach speeds as much as 180 m/s.

Airsoft guns are sold with an orange tip on their nozzle as an identification mark so they cannot be confused with real guns for safety reasons. Therefore it has been made law that anyone who tempers with these orange markings on the Airsoft guns will be liable to prosecution. There is a wide range of Airsoft products that are available on the market among which include gas Airsoft pistols, gas rifles, electric Airsoft pistols, electric rifles, Airsoft shotguns, spring pistols, spring rifles and other tactical gear.

Airsoft guns can be very dangerous if not handled properly. A shot taken from close range as little as 2 m with a velocity of about 100 m/s will break the human skin and cause bleeding. If such a close range shot is taken and it hits the eye it may result in serious damage that may lead to blindness. Therefore it is a rule that all persons using an Airsoft gun should wear eye protection.

There are some safety guidelines that can be followed when using Airsoft combat guns and these are as follows:
• Never shoot at anything else other than your official target
• Always put your finger on the trigger when you are ready to fire
• Only use the guns in designated areas where public and animals do not encroach in the shooting range
• Wear eye protection and thick jumper suits or even a bullet proof vest
• When done using the gun always return it in its case.

Following some of these safety procedures will ensure you stay safe and do not break any laws.
