Idaho is Outdoor Enthusiast's Dream

Most states put together marketing packets aimed at convincing people to come and visit their state (and in the process, spend some money while you are there, too!). You may have even seen some commercials on television trying to do the same thing. Of course these ads are promising everything under the sun to visitors and nearly every single state has to mention the fact that their state has gorgeous scenery and tons of things to do.

Unfortunately, advertising is not always true. While the places advertised in those marketing campaigns may actually exist, they are often misrepresented. Any state can boast of having plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy but that does not really mean anything.

Idaho is different from that league. It is not just an advertisement; it is a real deal. This beautiful place has its natural wonders welcoming the visitors and no flashy tag lines to portray it as the theme park capital of the world or the gambling Mecca where you can make millions or lose even the hundreds that you have.

The main attraction of Idaho is its wildlife. The state of Idaho has the largest area under federal protection for wildlife. Boise National Forest alone has more than 2.6 million acres of land and water to explore.

Next in size is the Idaho National Forest. This popular tourist destination was created by combining three other national parks: Coeur d'Alene, Kaniksu, and the St. Joe National Forests. Located in the northern region of the state, the Idaho National Forest is a favorite spot for outdoor lovers as it offers visitors a wide range of activities.

The Idaho National Forest also boasts of the most rugged terrain of the whole Rockies Mountains. Its four mountain ranges - Selkirk, Cabinet, Coeur d-Alene, and the Bitterroot Mountains - pose challenge to the rock climbers who come here from all over the world to challenge their rock climbing skills. It is difficult to locate accessible paths up the mountainside because of the rugged terrain. This makes rock climbing a difficult task.

Idaho and its austere beauty are a favorite spot for hunters and fishermen to come and test their skills. Home to the mule deer, Rocky Mountain Elk, and other big game animals, Idaho has a lot of visitors come in during hunting season in hopes of bagging a trophy. Plus, with great salmon and steel head fishing, the area is a hot bed for fishing enthusiasts as well.

Idaho does not offer the tourist attractions that some other states offer in their advertisement but it is a great place to spend some good time in peace and tranquility with friends and family. It is an experience not to be forgotten in a lifetime. Its mountains, rivers, lakes, and streams wait to welcome you to a place you were meant to live, or at least visit once in your life. Idaho is the place for you if you love to be part of the excitement thrown by pristine landscape and rugged mountainous beauty.
