Make Your Face Look 10 Years Younger

By: Ricardo Gibson

Do you look in the mirror and groan when you see the condition of your skin? You should consider using a chemical peel to turn back the years. There are different types of peels, so it is important to know your options.
Medical terms are often baffling, but not this one. A chemical peel is exactly what it sounds like. A chemical solution is applied to the skin. It reacts with the skin and causes the desired number of skin layers to peel off. The undamaged skin underneath is then exposed.
Following this treatment, the skin will peel for quite a number of days. Once the skin is done peeling, The new skin underlying the old will appear. The more layers of skin that are removed with the peal, the younger the new skin will look.
Three main types of peels can be sought. They are classified from mild to deep chemical peels. As the names suggest, each is progressively more aggressive when it comes to removing skin. You select a particular peel based on the amount of damage to your skin.
Our first form of chemical peel is the minor version. The formal name is the superficial chemical peel. It refers to the removal of only the top most layers of skin using a chemical concoction. This is good for blemishes and minor skin issues.
Next, we move up to the middle strength chemical peel. Trichloroacetic acid is the chemical solution of choice. It will provide the same strength as a second degree burn, and remove moderate levels of damaged skin. It can take a week or more to recover.
Now we get really serious. Phenol is the most aggressive peel you can go with. If you have seriously damaged skin from years outside, this is the peel for you. It goes very deep and can actually bleach your skin. If you have a dark complexion, avoid this peel.
The popularity of chemical peels is on the rise, which means everyone is trying to get in on it. You are nuts if you have a peel done by anyone other than a cosmetic surgeon. If something goes wrong, do you really want an untrained person in charge?
As men age, they look handsome with dark, wrinkled skin. It gives them a sort of rugged appearance. Women, of course, are not so lucky. You need to keep your skin looking young. A chemical peel is one way to do it.
