Reasons To Consider Security Screens For Your Business

By: Stu Foster.

Reason #1: Reduces Risk To Staff

Whenever your employees are exposed to customers, there's an inherent element of risk. After all, customers occasionally become angered and even irate. Though the circumstances may be beyond the control of employees, the anger is often directed toward them. For example, a bank teller's inability to cash a check may infuriate a customer. Without security screens that separate the bank employee from the customer, an employee can be vulnerable to physical harm.

Reason #2: Reduces Likelihood Of Vandalism

When a business closes for the evening and the entire staff departs for home, the workplace can be vulnerable to vandalism. While most security screens (at least those which are not bullet resistant) can be broken with enough force, they usually dissuade would-be vandals from doing so. The challenge of breaking through the screen will often discourage them from trying and motivate vandals to look elsewhere for mischief.

Reason #3: Reduces Risk Of Theft

Some businesses are exposed to more risk of theft than other businesses. Because of this, they require an extra level of screening protection. For example, banks are often robbed at gunpoint. Without a bullet resistant security screen that separates a bank employee from the criminal, the employee's life would be in danger. Similarly, pharmacies are also targets of theft as crooks attempt to steal painkillers and other medications. Often, these screens can be used in order to separate thieves from valuable or restricted items. This can discourage people who might otherwise be tempted to pilfer them.

Solutions For Every Need

Every business has unique needs for protecting their staff and workplace. A bank has different needs than a restaurant. A doctor's reception area has different needs than a movie theater's ticket window. Some simply require a barrier that stands between employees and customers in order to discourage verbal or physical abuse. Others require bullet resistant security screens in order to protect their employees' lives and reduce the likelihood of theft or vandalism.

There's a screening solution for every circumstance. Whether for use in a dentist's reception counter, a mall kiosk, or a 24-hour pharmacy, screens can be used to mitigate the risk that many businesses are exposed to. Consider the unique needs of your business. Balance the necessity for protection with the level of interaction you want to maintain with your customers. Then, look for a solution that meets your needs at a budget that you can afford.
