You can do this by going to yahoo.com. If you search for link:www.domainname.com you will see all the links that Yahoo have to that site.

Knowing what sites your competitors have that link to them is a good place to start as you may be able to adopt some of their methods in order to build the links to your website.

Remember this will not be a quick fix and you will not get loads of links to your site immediately. However with a consistent campaign over time your links will build and your ranking will rise.
