Let’s return with the biographies. Rene Magritte (21 November 1898 – 15 August 1967) was a Belgian surrealist artist. He developed his techniques while working as a commercial artist-designing wallpapers, posters, sheet-music covers and collage illustrations for furriers’ catalogs. Then, Rene Magritte moved to Paris for beginning his dream, being a recognized painter.

In 1922 Magritte married Georgette Berger, whom he had met in 1913. Rene Magritte’s works was exhibited in the United States in New York in 1936 and again in that city in two retrospective exhibitions, one at the Museum of Modern Art in 1965, and the other at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1992. Among his main artworks we can mention the followings: The Difficult Crossing (1926), The Menaced Assassin (1927), The Treachery of Images (1928-1929), Elective Affinities (1933), The Human Condition (1933), The Portrait (1935), On the Threshold of Liberty (1937), On the Threshold of Liberty (1937), Time Transfixed (1938), The Listening Room (1953) and The Listening Room (1953).
