The Dropping Volume of Alabama Foreclosure Homes

Many homebuyers aim to live in Alabama to take advantage of the stable economic growth, proliferation of affordable houses and low living costs at the state. Unlike in other states, it could be harder to find Alabama foreclosure homes that are up for sale. That is because the number of foreclosed homes in the state has been declining.

In the third quarter of 2008, there has been one in every 2,915 houses that are undergoing foreclosure. That is very low compared to foreclosure rates in other states. Alabama ranks as the 10th state in the US with the lowest foreclosure volume. Interestingly, the number of foreclosed homes in the area continues to decline, an indication that the housing industry in Alabama is remaining upbeat.

Birmingham is Alabama’s biggest city. Many of homebuyers and investors who buy foreclosed houses in the state focus on the city. The volume of Birmingham foreclosure homes is showing signs of growth, but still, there are not enough of those dwellings that are up for sale. As a matter of fact, out of 100 US cities, the city ranks as the 98th in terms of foreclosed homes inventory.

Prices of Alabama foreclosure homes are low, but compared to those foreclosure in other states, they are more costly. That is because as mentioned, the volume of such foreclosures continues to rise. There are not enough Birmingham foreclosure homes to meet rising demand. However, if you will be more resourceful and strategic in your search for foreclosed homes for sale, you could still generate huge savings from your purchases of foreclosed homes.
