This is supposed to result in better gas mileage. A test done by Popular Mechanics magazine found absolutely no change in gas consumption with this product. It didn’t hurt anything, but you can pay nearly fifty dollars to find out that it won’t help either.

Super FuelMax Fuel Saver: Despite their claims to increase your mileage up to 27%, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tested the device and found “no statistically significant difference” between vehicles gas mileage before installation of the fuel saver and after installation.

While these are only a few examples of scientific testing that has been done on fuel savers, the truth is that the best fuel saver product isn’t one you can buy. You, as the driver, are the best fuel saver that your car has. Following simple tips like slowing down, easing off the accelerator, getting your engine tuned, and properly inflating your tires will do the most to save you fuel. Just as people scammed the government after Hurricane Katrina in order to get government handouts, unscrupulous people are also scamming those who are finding themselves in a desperate situation as the gas crisis continues. Don’t fall prey to those who would claim that they have the best fuel saver product.
